Home from the hospital
Did'ja miss me? It's been awhile since my last blog, hasn't it? I feel bigger (mom says I'm almost 80 pounds now) and maybe a little braver too. I survived the fireworks of July 4th with no problems. I actually enjoyed all the bright lights and people that gathered in my neighborhood to play with me. I even let a few folks TOUCH me. Mom let me have ice cream before bed. But then, the next morning she took me to the vet and I got really scared when she left me there. Seems like forever until she came back the next morning to get me. The vet operated on me, said it was time to tie my ovaries, what ever that means. I just know I was really sleepy and really happy to see mom. We went home and I spent the entire weekend on mom's lap. I didn't let her out of my sight. I couldn't quit looking at her either. I was trying to read her mind so I'd know just what the heck she was thinking leaving me at the vets overnight.
Mom said I couldn't lick the owie on my tummy, so I didn't. And if you know me, you know I'm a compulsive licker. So just to be sure I couldn't lick myself, mom got me a new Thunder shirt to sleep in. It was awesome. Made me feel like mommy was hugging me all the time. I was able to play a little bit with Denali, but mom wouldn't let us play rough like we usually do. That was okay with me, 'coz I was really lazy and just wanted to cuddle with mom. We spent most of the daytime watching old movies on the outside TV, just lay in' around on the futon. . . me and my mom. Just as it should be.
I finally got my stitches out last Friday, and now mom doesn't stop me from running and wrestling with Denali. I even got to go to the dog park again. What fun. It's really been hot here in Olympia, Washington lately. It was close to 90 degrees today. Glad dad let us hang out on the cool wood floors and in the shade on the patio with him. He said he's going away for a few days to have his own operation. I told him he could borrow my Thunder shirt when he comes back home. I don't think it will fit him though, so I just plan to cuddle with him to make him feel better.
Well, that's all for now. Let me know if you read this, and what you would like me to talk about in my next blog. Until then, toodles poodles!
